A Little You and a Little Me

oak tree, owl, weirdness, we are like one another

I may be a part of you

and a part of him

because of those things

I may do

the world becomes

slightly more dim.

I am a little you

and you a little me

something darker

I look to see.

there stands what’s left

of that rotten old oak tree

that the owl spends his

time in that hole

picking at ants and

grub worms.

But, there is

A Little You and a Little Me

we have to discuss

right here and now

which is so important

we must not overlook

its significance

when we

close our eyes

and bathe ourselves

in our own sleep.
