Black

in the blackness, god, big bang, poetry, steven humphreys

the beginning

in darkness

nothing

but

blackness

a

deep dark

lonely

burgeoning

consciousness

emerged

cloaked in

black

he

cried out

from the void

of all voids

the choice had been made

between eternal

nothingness

and

something

probable

it

then

went

‘bang’

time

and space

were created

where none

was before

something

made from nothing

consciousness came from

somewhere else

outside of all this

matter exploded into energy

energy deflated into matter

one in

becoming

one another

‘as for us’

what shall we become?

a talking idol

on a Greek ship?

maybe

a doughnut

dunked in

coffee?

someone swinging

on a playground swing?

we are all connected

by invisible strings

while

ego and pride

through its own arrogance

are those sharp

scissors which

cut that cord

separating us

from knowing

we are all one

and not actually

separate entities

looking inward

unaware

our own

consciousness

(once trained)

may

travel at will

to

different realities

this consciousness

a gift from god

came

before we were born

once

absorbed

into

the larger

body

once again

as before

waiting

to be logged

on to this

human form

as temporary home

a

vehicle

and resting place

to experience

to learn

one day

logging off

returning

to ‘other’

from whence

we came

to evaluate

our prior existence

resting awhile

regrouping

planning

choosing

our next

existence

then

repeating

as before

once

again

a

new

life
