Beloved

Wicked hotel

‘sorry

no vacancy’

got a cramp

looking at my

lava lamp

bubbles

float up and down

‘so

you’re the

beloved angel of

the

thirteenth floor’?

pleasure meeting you…

windows

way over

on the left

open

and

gone

no escaping

dawn

concrete goes

straight

down to h _ _ l

dead plants in pots

sit on

ledges bare

shelves

full of pigeons

pecking each other

flapping their wings

fighting for dominance

feathers floating

upon the

blessed one’s

shoulders

below

aware

never found

their place

lost

in

aimless

empty

relationships

nothing was there

no

professions

friendships

earthly possessions

no riches

these

unloved

forgotten

ones

unlike

homeowners

they are appointed

angels

the guardians

of goodness

‘if god tells you

you are his beloved,

you better listen.

and

when you are

appointed

his

angel

get ready

for your hard

lessons.

for

it is only the

beginning

of a long,

long

struggle

full of

pain

policing

empty

darkened

creatures

roaming

around

this

empty

city’
