Pantomime

pantomime, poetry, steven humphreys

He held his

cunning

index finger

and thumb

as if he

held a gun

and he pointed it

in a pantomime

gesture

praying to the ghost

he’d get that

bas _ _ _ d

the one

who did him in

who cruelly laughed

at him

seething

in all his pain

so he waited

against time

and fate

until

it

would

come

to

him

in

the

vernacular
