Sailing ships

The immensity

of the power

of nature

seen

each day

its destruction

torrential downpour

hail stones

hurricane winds

spinning tornado

earthquake

glacier breaks

we masters of none

pray to god

in our watery

journey

sailing ships

tread water

they dip

to distant shores

waves pound

sea sickness

abhor

your vessel

leaping to the air

goes down

and down

deep

into ocean waves

many embracing arms

yes

the sea can be gentle

but never challenge

it with ego

for

you have not mastered

the drink

nor your own life

it has mastered you

it will sink you

drown you

and humble you

out of nowhere

it comes

like the hand of god

slapping you down

a huge

hundred foot

rogue wave

sinking the largest

unsinkable

tonnage

ship of ships

ever built by men

who never

once

knelt down

clasping their hands

together

bowing their heads

in name of

the almighty
