Frothing from the Backlash

Frothing from the backlash

belittled behemoth

its shadow

over minted plains

coming up

standing down

living on the edge

of a bloodthirsty razor blade

hearing empty words

sounding real

seeing

believing

it’s not

a good deal

cast away fears

as a stone throw

no longer far

getting near

listen to music

caught between

plastered

heaving

sitting

believing

tearing walls

buildings small

painted cameras

taking photos

of mother’s crawl

fathers on leashes

brothers

sisters

screech

reaching

claw

falling

kneel down

knotted knees

peeling bark on backyard trees

free to think

freezing shoes

a cat may look at a king

standing in winter’s breeze

never blink

pondering hellish ways

make you wonder

why cohorting took so long
