‘Can I help you?’
the salesperson asks…
‘Yes, I think you can!’ you reply.
‘Well, what can I do for you?’
‘Well, it’s kinda’ hard to put into words,’ you say as it is so obvious
you are holding the floodgate of tears back
because he sees your teary eyes welling up.
He’s looking at you like you are going to ask something he can’t handle.
and, he’s so right
because you can read his thoughts
so you know he’s right in thinking it all along…
so, you finally say it with all your feeling,
‘I don’t belong here and I need to be fixed and I am so depressed and unloved and…’
he stops your words in their tracks.
‘How do we love you and what things can we sacrifice to make you the happiest person in the whole wide world?’ the salesperson asks.
And, who on earth would listen more intently, thoughtfully and kindly than the Angels and Cherubs themselves who’d descended from heaven and landed at your feet?
