Eat your Pickle

how to write a poem, steven humphreys, poem, poetry, prose

Hair a thinin’

bulging belly fat

signs of wisdom

imagine that

consciousness tall

brain shrunk small

crawl in traffic

feel the heat

bite a big mac

hold your nose

eat your pickle.

we want to feel good,

unless sadomasochists and

feeling bad is feeling better.

But, what we want is

Godly feeling

brought down to us;

that drink,

that song,

that romance

that runs up and down our spine.

what it is he believes

you should get;

as it seemed

we think it something

sent to us from above

on a mission

to save a life

our job

our own

to swallow.
